Rice importer from Turku, Finland
We import and deliver quality basmati rice to Finnish retail and wholesale trade and to restaurants. Our core product is NORD Basmati Rice XXXL – a long-grain, carefully sorted basmati that cooks up fluffy, separate and fragrant.
We supply both single bags through our online shop and pallet quantities straight from our warehouse.

Origin
From the field to the bag
Basmati grows in the fields of Pakistan, where it has been cultivated for centuries. The region's climate, soil and long farming tradition create the conditions for a rice known for its long grain, aromatic fragrance and distinctive taste.
We do not grow the rice ourselves; our work begins where the harvest ends. We choose the growers and the lots we work with carefully. That way we know where the rice comes from and what quality we are bringing to our customers.
With as few intermediaries as possible, the route from field to customer stays clear. That gives us better control over the product, deliveries and costs – and lets us offer a competitive price without compromising on quality.
NORD Basmati Rice XXXL - 1121
1121 is one of the best known long-grain basmati varieties. Its signature is an exceptionally long, slender grain that lengthens noticeably further during cooking. XXXL refers precisely to this striking grain size.
Our 1121 Basmati cooks up light and separate. The grains stay distinct and hold their shape well even when larger quantities are prepared.
The long grain, the characteristic basmati aroma and the firm texture make it particularly well suited to restaurants and professional kitchens.

Why NORD
Rice trade without the detours
We know what we sell
Our range is not dozens of near-identical options. We have focused on 1121 Basmati and chosen a product whose quality we know.
The same rice, delivery after delivery
Predictability matters in a professional kitchen. Our aim is that nobody has to relearn how to cook the rice after every delivery.
Easy to buy in volume too
From a single sack to pallet loads. We serve restaurants, institutional kitchens, resellers and other business customers in the quantities they need.
A real person answers
When you want to ask about the product, availability, delivery or a larger batch, you get an answer from us without a complicated organisation in between.
At the table
From biryani to an everyday side
Basmati suits dishes where the texture of the rice is meant to be seen and felt. The long grain holds its shape during cooking, absorbs spices and aromas, and stays light and separate when prepared properly.
It is the natural choice for biryani and pilaf, but works just as well alongside curries, grilled meat, fish and vegetables. Its refined, neutral flavour makes it a rice you can use in the kitchen day after day.
In a professional kitchen, 1121 Basmati performs especially well when larger quantities are prepared and the result has to hold up throughout service.

Three steps to perfect basmati
Rinse
Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for about 20 minutes – the grains cook more evenly and stretch longer.
Cook
One part rice, one and a half parts water. Bring to the boil, lower the heat and simmer covered for 10–12 minutes without stirring.
Let it rest
Take it off the heat and let it rest covered for 5 minutes. Loosen the grains with a fork – do not stir with a spoon.
Store an opened bag in a dry, cool place. The zip closure keeps the rice fresh.

A pack that stands up to use
A good pack makes even a large sack of rice easy to handle. Nord Basmati is packed in a durable woven bag with carry handles and a resealable zip.
The bag can be opened and closed as needed, so the rice does not have to be transferred into a separate container. The sturdy construction protects the product in transit, in the warehouse and in daily kitchen use.
The pack carries the product's origin and producer details along with our contact information. The rice keeps best in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight.
